I’ve had some great fun on Lavalife, mind you I’m a girl so it’s free for me to use, but the guys all seem so desperate and that’s kind of fun. I strung one guy along for a whole month only to stop replying to him.
I can see it being a serious site but maybe i’ll use it properly when I’m a little older and ready to tie the knot.
total piss shite site, paid through my teeth only to get my time wasted and besides most of the girls are either in Russia or some overseas country where dating is difficult or illegal or they’re lesbian and are just looking for fun.
If you’re looking for a serious partner, a future wife or a loving girl friend, you won’t find it on lavalife. Plus they charge us guys and not the women how would you ever expect the women to take it seriously.
I actually met several (about 7) men from lavalife, all in the relationship section. I had a long list of requirments, and actually ended up meeting a wonderful professional – things were excellent for many months but then his behaviour became somewhat erratic. Turns out he had been married before (he had told me that he had never been married), he had lied about his age, he had kept his dating profile online even though he had told me he’d taken it down (I never thought to look, as I trusted him) and – most shockingly – one night he showed up at my house, looking unkempt and frightened, and told me that he is a schizoprenic and had been diagnosed about 12 years ago.
All this after thinking I’d carefully screened who I met. I tried to help him but he was very paranoid and very scared of me (I guess that’s common with paranoid schizophrenia.)
In the end I managed to contact his family and they stepped in to help.
I know it isn’t lavalife’s fault, but I’ll never try online dating again.
